The gilder lays a thin gold, silver or copper leaf on a carved wood to give it a massive gold aspect. First, 7 to 8 coats of rabbit skin glue are laid on the wood, covered with red clay from Armenia, a sable hair brush is the only tool ensuring the manipulation of the gold leaf.

Next, the gold leaf is polished with an agate stone in order to make it real massive gold aspect.
